The Vacuteiner Needle is a closed, sterile venous blood collection system. The Safety Lok mechanism protects against accidental needle stick injuries – after drawing blood and removing the needle, the sheath (integrated with the butterfly) slides over the blade, covering it completely. A click indicates that the needle is properly secured. The mechanism can be activated using only one hand. The 17.8 cm needle tube is equipped with an adapter and a holder (guide) enabling the connection of the Vacutainer needle with test tubes with a factory-set negative pressure.
