Platelet-Rich Fibrin and Stem Cells or Daily Medication?
The future of musculoskeletal disorder treatment undoubtedly belongs to regenerative medicine.
This relatively young field utilizes innovative autologous therapies, including those based on stem cells, aiming to restore damaged tissues by replacing old and diseased cells with young, biologically active ones. As a result, affected tissues undergo natural regeneration.
Injectable Platelet-Rich Fibrin (i-PRF) contains platelets and the growth factors they release, which stimulate tissue repair processes. It also includes stem cells and white blood cells, supporting healing and regeneration.
Once injected into soft tissues, platelet-rich fibrin gradually coagulates, forming a three-dimensional scaffold that traps these cells. This allows for prolonged stimulation of the body’s natural regenerative processes.
i-PRF is a fully autologous and biocompatible material, which means it carries no risk of allergic reactions.
The procedure itself is simple and requires only a small blood sample.
After completing a series of treatments, the majority of patients are able to reduce or discontinue anti-inflammatory and pain medications. This is particularly important for individuals with multiple comorbidities who are undergoing complex pharmacological therapies.
Key Benefits of Platelet-Rich Fibrin Therapy

Pre-Treatment Recommendations
- Start hydrating the day before – drink at least 1.5 liters of water on the day of the procedure
- Avoid dehydration and physical exertion on the day of treatment
- Limit caffeine intake
- Do not consume alcohol 24 hours before the procedure
- Consult your doctor regarding medications
Post-Treatment Recommendations
- Limit joint movement
- Protect the treated area – avoid sudden movements, impacts, and re-injury
- Schedule the next treatment after 3–4 weeks
- Avoid spa facilities and swimming pools
- Consult your doctor regarding medications
